Located on the first floor of Simpson’s in the Strand, the Knight’s Bar is an elegant setting, resplendent with sparkling mirrors, inviting sofas and a chequerboard bar with a carved Knight playing piece that nods to the original incarnation of Simpson’s as the home of British chess.
The Knight’s Bar is a haven for gin-lovers with a menu that features over forty artisanal gins. Many of the cocktails feature gin that has been created exclusively for Simpson’s in the Strand; London Dry gin distilled by Portobello Road and Old Tom gin distilled by Blackdown Distillery in West Sussex.
Referred to as the ‘Boozy Bill of Fare’, the cocktail menu has been designed by the talented Knight’s Bar team to complement the beautiful seasonal produce used in the restaurant kitchen. Each cocktail celebrates a different garden ingredient and, working closely with the chefs, evolves regularly with the harvest. The summer iteration of the menu features elderflower captured in a bright and floral gin and English sparkling wine cocktail; Cotswold Bay complemented by rye whiskey and Nutty Sherry, and basil infused in a refreshing blend of gin, apricot, lemon and egg white
